To adjust Ring Video Doorbell 2 audio, open the Ring app and go to Menu → Devices → Ring Video Doorbell 2 → Device Settings → Audio Settings. Change Device Speaker for the sound you hear during Two-Way Talk, or Doorbell Sounds for the sound associated with a button press. These are separate controls.
Choose the volume control for the sound you mean
| Sound | What it controls | Where to change it |
|---|---|---|
| Two-Way Talk | The doorbell’s speaker volume while you talk through the Ring app | Doorbell 2 → Device Settings → Audio Settings → Device Speaker |
| Doorbell press sound | The sound associated with someone pressing the doorbell | Doorbell 2 → Device Settings → Audio Settings → Doorbell Sounds |
| In-home chime | A connected mechanical or digital chime inside your home | In-home Chime Settings; this is a separate configuration path |
| Ring Chime or Chime Pro | Optional indoor alerts linked to a Ring doorbell | Chime audio settings in the Ring app |
Ring’s guidance treats the in-home chime separately; it does not establish that either slider in the doorbell’s Audio Settings controls the in-home chime’s loudness. See Ring’s in-home chime setup and troubleshooting guidance.
Adjust Two-Way Talk or doorbell-press volume
- Open the Ring app and tap the menu (☰).
- Tap Devices, then select Ring Video Doorbell 2.
- Tap Device Settings, then Audio Settings.
- Move Device Speaker to change Two-Way Talk volume, or move Doorbell Sounds to change the sound associated with a button press.
Ring notes that Two-Way Talk volume adjustment is not available on every Ring device. If the Device Speaker slider does not appear, Ring’s guidance does not identify a Doorbell 2-specific workaround. For the current instructions, see Ring’s volume-adjustment guide.

Built-in in-home chime
Use the separate In-home Chime Settings guidance to configure a connected mechanical or digital chime. The doorbell’s Device Speaker and Doorbell Sounds controls are documented for different audio functions and should not be assumed to change this chime’s loudness.
