Capcom’s Resident Evil 30th Special Pack for Nintendo Switch 2 is a bundle in the literal sense: it packages three games in anniversary packaging. But its cards do not contain the full games ready to play. Capcom says each uses a key-card format, requiring an internet connection and at least 30 GB of free storage to download the software on first play. For buyers expecting a self-contained physical collection, that is the missed opportunity.
What the Resident Evil 30th Special Pack includes

The listing also includes a download code for a limited Grace “APOCALYPSE” costume. Capcom states that the code is valid through February 27, 2027. Check the seller’s terms and the code’s regional eligibility before buying, especially if you are purchasing outside Japan. Capcom’s product listing
Why the physical format is the catch
The three Switch 2 packages use key cards. Capcom says an internet connection and at least 30 GB of free storage are required, and that the game software downloads the first time each game is played. The cards therefore act as access keys rather than containing the full game software ready to play offline.

That distinction matters if you want a collection that can be installed without a download, or if your internet connection or console storage is limited. The pack still offers packaged games and anniversary presentation; the criticism is that the physical cards do not deliver the self-contained game data some collectors expect from a boxed set. Capcom’s listing gives the key-card and download requirements.
Don’t confuse it with the digital Generation Pack
Capcom also announced a Switch 2 Resident Evil Generation Pack containing Requiem, Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition, and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition. That was a separate digital offer, not another name for the physical 30th Special Pack. Capcom USA’s announcement
Nintendo Australia’s page describes its digital bundle as including Requiem, Resident Evil 7, and Resident Evil Village, with Gold Edition content and add-ons listed on the page. Nintendo Life reported on March 5, 2026 that the digital Generation Pack offer was scheduled to end March 31, 2026. That date has passed; treat it as a historical promotion, not a currently available deal. The report said the three games were expected to remain individually available in the eShop. Check the edition and controller configuration before buying
Regional edition
The cited 30th Special Pack listing is for Japan: it specifies Village Z Version and a CERO Z rating. That does not establish which edition, language options, stock, or price may apply in another country. Verify the local product listing and seller details rather than assuming the Japanese package is equivalent to a regional release.
Optional controller configuration
Capcom separately lists a version of the pack that includes a Resident Evil Requiem Edition Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. The controller is not included in the standard 30th Special Pack, and Capcom says it does not work with the original Nintendo Switch. Capcom’s controller-pack listing

Is the Resident Evil 30th Special Pack worth considering?
It makes sense for someone who wants three packaged titles, the anniversary presentation, and the included costume code, and who can accommodate the initial downloads. It is a poorer fit for someone whose main reason to buy physical games is having the full software on the cards or being able to install and play without an internet connection.
