For co-op and DLC, choose the version for your platform that explicitly includes the content you want and supports how you plan to play. Capcom says the Switch version of Resident Evil 5 includes Gold Edition content and lets you play alone or with a friend. The current Xbox and PlayStation listings for Resident Evil 6 say all DLC is included. If you want all three games in one package, check the format carefully: the Switch Triple Pack puts only Resident Evil 4 on the cartridge, with download vouchers for Resident Evil 5 and 6.
Which edition should you buy?
| Your priority | Edition to consider | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Resident Evil 5 co-op and extras on Switch | Switch digital version or Switch Triple Pack | Capcom says the Switch game includes Gold Edition content. In the Triple Pack, RE5 is a download voucher, not a cartridge game; confirm the code works in your region. Capcom’s announcement specifies the voucher format for North America and Latin America. |
| Resident Evil 6 with DLC on Xbox | Current Xbox listing for RE6 | The listing says all DLC is included. Online multiplayer on console requires a Game Pass subscription tier. Check the Xbox listing for the offer available in your region. |
| Resident Evil 6 with DLC on PlayStation | PS4 listing for RE6, playable on PS5 subject to compatibility details | The listing says all DLC is included; online play requires PS Plus. Check the PlayStation listing for current platform and compatibility information. |
| All three classic games in one Xbox offer | Xbox Resident Evil Triple Pack | Microsoft describes it as including RE4 (2005), RE5 and RE6, with DLC modes, costumes and expansions. Check that the offer matches your console and region. View the Xbox Triple Pack listing. |
| All three games as a Switch retail package | Switch Resident Evil Triple Pack | Only RE4 is on the cartridge; RE5 and RE6 come as download vouchers, according to Capcom’s announcement linked above. |
What co-op does each game offer?
Resident Evil 5
Resident Evil 5 follows two B.S.A.A. operatives, Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar. Capcom describes the game as playable alone or with a friend. On Switch, Capcom says the version includes Gold Edition content, including additional story content that returns to the mansion and The Mercenaries United. The Switch versions of both games also add gyroscopic and motion controls, according to Capcom.

Resident Evil 6
The Xbox listing specifies local and online co-op, and labels local co-op for 2–4 players, online co-op for 2–4, and online multiplayer for 2–6. Those are storefront capability labels; they do not establish that every campaign mode supports the maximum player count. The PlayStation listing specifies one to two players and online play for up to six with PS Plus, and says online play is optional. Confirm the mode you intend to play rather than assuming every campaign supports the store’s maximum multiplayer count.

The edition descriptions make the clearest current-platform distinction for Resident Evil 6: both the Xbox and PlayStation listings say all DLC is included. Microsoft describes its Xbox Triple Pack as including DLC modes, costumes and expansions alongside RE4, RE5 and RE6. For Resident Evil 5, Capcom specifically confirms Gold Edition content in the Switch version, including its additional story content and The Mercenaries United. These statements apply to the named offers; do not assume an edition on another platform has the same package without checking its store listing.

Physical, digital and platform differences
Switch Triple Pack: a mixed physical and digital package
For North American and Latin American retail versions, Capcom says the Switch Triple Pack includes Resident Evil 4 on cartridge plus download vouchers for Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. Buying the box does not mean all three games are stored on the cartridge. The announcement does not establish that physical contents are identical in other territories, so check the package details for your region.
Xbox and PlayStation versions
Microsoft lists RE6 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Sony identifies its RE6 product as a PS4 game that can be played on PS5 subject to system software and compatibility details. Online access has a separate subscription consideration: the Xbox listing requires a Game Pass subscription tier for online multiplayer on console, while the PlayStation listing requires PS Plus for online play.

PC details are limited
Steam’s available listing text describes four story threads playable solo or in co-op, and says seven Extra Content stages that were previously console DLC come standard on PC. That information is specific to the PC package described by Steam; it does not establish the DLC contents for console editions. See Steam’s RE6 listing for its package details.
How to compare editions before checkout
- Match the platform and region. Check the exact store offer for your console and country; physical bundle contents and availability can vary by territory.
- Confirm the included content. Look for an explicit statement about all DLC, Gold Edition content, additional story material or specific modes rather than relying on the word “complete.”
- Check your co-op setup. Determine whether you need local or online co-op, then verify the intended mode, player count and any console online subscription requirement.
- Inspect the physical format. For a boxed Switch Triple Pack, confirm whether the games are on cartridge or supplied as download codes, and whether you can redeem those codes in your region.
- Compare the current price last. Store prices, sales, taxes and offer eligibility change, so treat any displayed price as current only when you check the listing.
Prices and availability
When these storefront pages were retrieved, Xbox displayed RE6 at $19.99+ and the Xbox Triple Pack at $49.99+. PlayStation displayed $19.99 for RE6 and $49.99 for the Triple Pack. These are observed storefront prices, not fixed edition prices; sales, region, taxes and offer eligibility can change the amount you see.
