To reset most Samsung washing machines, unplug the washer or switch off its circuit breaker, wait 1 to 5 minutes, then restore power. This power cycle is the closest general equivalent to a reset, but it may only clear an error code; it does not necessarily fix the cause.
How to power-cycle your Samsung washer

If the washer is mid-cycle or displaying an error, note the code or blinking-light pattern before disconnecting power. That information can help identify the fault if it returns.

Unplug the washer from the wall. If you cannot safely reach the plug, switch off the washer’s circuit breaker instead.

You can find the repair video on YouTube and follow it to install DC31-00054D Drain Pump, as there were plenty of do it yourself videos on there that helped guide you on the repair. Remove the plastic cover of the pump filter, then remove the 2 screws at the back. Remove the hose from the drain pump assembly and pull it out from the bottom of the washer (be careful not to cut the wire). Easy to install ,just remember which connector plugs in to which terminal

Restore power, then check whether the washer works normally and whether the same code or symptom remains.

What a reset does—and what it does not do
A power cycle interrupts power and may clear stored error codes. It does not automatically correct the problem that triggered a code. If the same code or symptom returns, stop repeating the reset and follow troubleshooting for that code or contact Samsung service. Repeated resets may erase error history that could help diagnosis, as Samsung warns in its Canadian support guidance.

Use the code to guide the next step. For example, Samsung identifies 4E/4C as a water-fill problem: cycling power will not resolve an underlying water-supply or installation issue. Check the relevant Samsung washer error-code troubleshooting rather than treating a cleared display as proof that the fault is fixed.

Power cycle, Wi-Fi reset, and calibration are different

Reset network information on a compatible Wi-Fi model
Samsung’s procedure is to hold Smart Control until “AP” appears (about 3 seconds), then hold Temp until “OK” appears (about 7 seconds), and turn the washer off. This clears network information. The controls and feature availability depend on the model; consult its instructions if the labels or sequence differ. Details are in Samsung’s Wi-Fi reset guidance.
Run calibration only when the model supports it
Empty the washer before calibration, and follow the instructions for the exact model: the controls and availability vary, and not every Samsung washer has a calibration mode. Samsung explains calibration in its guidance on poor spinning and installation.

Pulled off the plastic cover for the PX3516-01 drain pump filter and then the 2 screws behind that. Removed the hoses on the drain pump assembly and pulled it out the bottom of the washer, being careful to not cut the wires (taped the sharp edges of the washer metal). When the washer uses blinking lights
Some models indicate errors with lights instead of a display. Samsung advises treating blinking lights as an error only when the washer is also not working normally. Note the pattern, then use the model’s code and troubleshooting guidance; the Samsung error-code guide covers light indicators and code-specific steps.

The washer still will not operate normally: do not keep clearing the code as a substitute for diagnosing the fault.

The issue involves a suspected internal fault: a reset alone is not a basis for opening the washer or replacing parts. Follow the appropriate support instructions or arrange service.
