Removing a login method usually changes how you enter an app; it does not automatically erase your profile there. Deleting an identity-provider account is a much broader action that can remove email, files, and access to other services. Choose the control that matches your goal: disconnect a sign-in method, revoke an app’s data access, remove an account from one device, delete the app’s own account, or delete the provider account itself.
What do you want to stop or delete?
“Remove my account” can refer to several different operations. Check the scope before confirming a prompt: is it one way to sign in, one app’s permission, one device, one service account, or the entire identity-provider account?

These controls are not interchangeable. Apple documents Sign in with Apple management separately from access granted to third-party apps, while Google distinguishes removing an account from a device from deleting the Google Account itself.
How do I remove Sign in with Apple from an app?
Apple’s control stops using your Apple Account as the sign-in method for the app. Apple says you’ll be signed out of the app on your device. That does not, by itself, establish that the app’s profile or data has been deleted. See Apple’s Sign in with Apple management instructions for the current account-settings steps.

Before stopping the method, confirm that you have another way to access the app if you intend to keep using it. On a later visit, Apple says you can use Sign in with Apple again for the same account or create a new account, depending on the app. Some developers use one Sign in with Apple relationship across multiple apps, so stopping it for one app may affect those apps too.
How is revoking app access different from removing sign-in?
Sign-in controls determine how an app authenticates you. Authorization controls determine whether an app can access particular data. Removing an app’s authorization does not necessarily delete your app account or stop every sign-in method.

For supported third-party apps that access iCloud Mail, Calendar, or Contacts, Apple provides a separate access-management process. Apple says that after access is removed, the app cannot access that data unless you authorize it again. Follow the instructions for third-party access to iCloud Mail, Calendar, and Contacts.

No. Removing an account from a device is different from deleting the Google Account. The device action removes that account from that device; it does not amount to deleting the account from Google. If your goal is only to sign out or stop syncing on one device, use the device’s account controls rather than the full deletion flow. What happens if I delete my Google Account?
Full deletion can affect data and services tied to that Google Account. Google lists email, files, calendars, and photos among the content you can lose, as well as access to services such as Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and Play. Some content or subscriptions purchased through the account may also be affected. Check Google’s current deletion guidance before proceeding.
Deleting the Google Account is not the same as deleting Gmail alone, and it does not automatically tell every third-party service what to do with an account you created using that email address. The consequences at banks, social networks, apps, and other services depend on each service’s own account and recovery rules.

How do I delete an account without losing access to other apps?
Prepare the services that depend on the email address or sign-in method before deleting the provider account. Google recommends reviewing and downloading information you want to keep and changing the Gmail address used by banking, social media, and apps. Check each service directly rather than assuming that changing or deleting the provider account updates it everywhere.

Identify accounts that use the provider email for sign-in, password recovery, billing, security alerts, or contact.
- Secure alternate access. Where a service allows it, add and verify another email address or sign-in method, and confirm you can reset the password without the account you plan to delete.
- Review data and purchases. Download files and other information you want to retain, and check subscriptions or purchased content associated with the provider account.
- Delete the app’s account separately if needed. If you want a service profile or its stored data erased, use that service’s own deletion process; removing a login method or provider account may not do that.
- Use the provider’s full-account deletion flow only when ready. Google’s instructions are at Delete your Google Account. Review the listed effects before confirming.
Does account deletion erase data immediately?
Do not assume deletion means immediate, universal erasure from every system. Google’s Privacy Help Center says account content is removed from its systems after “a certain amount of time,” without giving one universal deadline in the reviewed guidance. Retention and recovery rules vary by provider and account type. For Google’s explanation, see the Privacy Help Center.

How do I choose the right operation?
- You only want to stop using a button to sign in: change or stop that login method, after confirming another usable route into the app.
- You want an app to stop accessing provider data: revoke that app’s authorization.
- You want to sign out one device: remove the account or session from that device.
- You want the app profile or its data erased: use the app or service’s account-deletion process.
- You want to leave the provider entirely: export wanted information, move external sign-ins and recovery options, check purchases and subscriptions, then use the provider’s full-account deletion flow.
Apple’s available controls and Google’s account controls illustrate these different scopes; other providers may offer different options and consequences. Follow the provider’s current instructions for your region, platform, and account type.
