The clearest differences are camera design, battery capacity and the available regional specifications: Xiaomi’s India-listed Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G has a 200MP main camera, a 6,500mAh battery and a 100W charger in the box, while Nothing highlights a periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom on Phone (4a). A single current price gap cannot be established from the available listings: the observed Nothing price is from the UK, while Xiaomi’s detailed specifications are for India.
How the two phones differ at a glance
| Specification | Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G (Xiaomi India listing) | Nothing Phone (4a) |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 | Not stated in the cited Nothing material |
| Configurations documented | 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB | UK product page showed an 8GB/128GB selection |
| Display | 6.83-inch CrystalRes AMOLED; 2772 × 1280; up to 120Hz; listed peak brightness of 3,200 nits | A sufficiently complete comparable specification was not established |
| Rear cameras | 200MP OIS main camera (f/1.7, 1/1.4-inch sensor) and 8MP ultra-wide; listed 4K video at 30fps | Three-camera system; 50MP OIS periscope camera; stated 3.5x optical zoom and up to 70x ultra zoom |
| Front camera | 32MP | Not stated in the cited Nothing material |
| Battery | 6,500mAh typical capacity | 5,080mAh |
| Charging information | 100W charger listed in the India package | A comparable charging figure was not established |
| Price observed | No comparable current India price established | £379 for the 8GB/128GB selection on Nothing’s UK page when accessed; this is a dated observation, not a guaranteed current price |
These are manufacturer specifications and a regional listing observation, not results from comparative testing. Xiaomi says available storage is lower than nominal capacity because the operating system and preinstalled software use space. See Xiaomi’s India specifications and Nothing’s UK Phone (4a) page.
Which phone has optical zoom?
Nothing specifies 3.5x optical zoom from Phone (4a)’s periscope camera, which uses a tetraprism system. Its “up to 70x ultra zoom” claim describes a maximum zoom level, not 70x optical zoom. For distant subjects, the dedicated periscope hardware is the clearest stated advantage in the specifications available here.

Xiaomi’s India specification sheet instead lists a 200MP optical-image-stabilized main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. A high megapixel count does not by itself establish that a camera takes better photos, and the listed specifications do not substitute for controlled image-quality testing.

Battery and charging: capacity is not endurance
Xiaomi lists a typical 6,500mAh battery and a 100W charger in the box for the cited India model. Nothing lists a 5,080mAh battery for Phone (4a), but the cited material does not establish a comparable charging rate. Battery capacity and charger wattage do not establish real-world battery life or a specific time to recharge.
Display, durability and software details
Display
Xiaomi specifies a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 2772 × 1280 resolution and a refresh rate up to 120Hz. It also lists HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and peak brightness of 3,200 nits. These are manufacturer-listed features; the available Nothing material does not provide enough matching display detail to declare either screen brighter or better.

Durability and what comes in the box
Xiaomi lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for the cited regional model, and its package list includes an adapter, USB Type-C cable and protective case. Xiaomi cautions that the ratings apply under specified laboratory conditions; they do not guarantee protection in every situation or mean water damage is covered in all circumstances. Package contents and ratings can vary by market. Comparable Nothing box contents were not established.
Software and connectivity
Xiaomi lists HyperOS 3. It notes that AI features vary by region and language, and that some require an internet connection or compatible devices and apps. Xiaomi also says eSIM availability and carrier or network support vary by region, so check the precise local SKU and carrier compatibility before buying.

What is the price difference?
There is no reliable single price difference to calculate from these listings. Nothing’s UK page showed £379 for an 8GB/128GB Phone (4a) selection when accessed. Xiaomi’s cited page is an India specification page listing 256GB and 512GB configurations, not a same-market price quote. Comparing those figures would mix countries and storage tiers.
For a meaningful comparison, check current authorized listings in the same country for matching storage capacities, and compare prices on the same basis for taxes and discounts. Availability, prices and configuration options can change by market and over time.

Which one should you choose?
- Consider Phone (4a) if a dedicated periscope camera and stated 3.5x optical zoom matter most, or if its price for the exact local configuration is more attractive.
- Consider Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G if the listed 6,500mAh typical battery, 100W in-box charger, specified high-resolution AMOLED display or Xiaomi’s stated rear-camera configuration better fits your priorities.
- Compare local versions before deciding if price, eSIM, carrier support, included accessories or software-feature availability will affect your purchase; regional configurations and support can differ.
The specifications identify trade-offs, not a definitive overall winner. No controlled camera comparison or battery-endurance test is established by these product claims.
