If you forgot your Realme pattern, first try configured face or fingerprint unlocking and check that you are entering the correct pattern for the active user. Realme says a forgotten screen password cannot be retrieved; on supported models, its documented recovery is a Recovery-mode data format that erases the phone. Check your model’s instructions and make sure you can sign in to its associated Google account before proceeding.
What to try before resetting
- Try biometrics: If face or fingerprint unlock was set up, use it to access the phone without erasing its data.
- Check the credential: Make sure you are entering the intended pattern and consider whether it may have been changed.
- Check the active user: A phone may be on a sub-user profile. Realme says restarting defaults to the primary user account.
These checks may restore access if the issue is the active profile or an available biometric. They do not recover a forgotten pattern. Realme states that the lock-screen password is encrypted using an irreversible algorithm and cannot be retrieved through other means after it is forgotten. When Recovery mode is the documented option
For the realme UI versions and models listed in its FAQ, realme instructs owners to erase the phone using Recovery mode. The process clears local data; it is not a way to bypass the lock while keeping inaccessible files. Realme’s forgotten-password FAQ lists this Recovery-format route for realme UI 2.0 through 7.0 and specified devices. Its instructions direct owners of realme UI 1.0 (Android 10), certain R/S/T/Go/U editions, and specified tablets to customer service with valid proof of purchase instead. Recovery-mode format steps on supported devices
- Power the phone off.
- Hold Power and Volume Down until the phone vibrates or enters Recovery mode.
- Choose a language if prompted.
- Select Wipe data > Format data.
- Enter the verification code displayed on the screen.
- Choose Format and wait for the “Wiped successfully” confirmation.
Button behavior and menu labels may differ across models. If the listed options do not appear, stop and follow the instructions for your exact device or contact realme support rather than guessing.
Prepare for data loss and account verification
Do not start a format unless you accept losing data stored locally on the phone. Realme explicitly warns that data will be lost after resetting. The reset does not recover unbacked-up photos, documents, or other inaccessible files. realme’s reset warning

After data is cleared, the phone may ask for the Google account password associated with it during activation. Before resetting, confirm that you can access that account. If you have forgotten its password, use Google Account recovery first; realme directs owners there when they cannot remember the account password. realme’s activation guidance
When to contact realme service
Contact an authorized realme service center if your model is directed to service, Recovery mode does not offer the documented options, or the supported format process fails. Bring the phone and valid proof of purchase. Avoid third-party tools that promise to bypass the forgotten pattern while preserving encrypted local data. The official guidance does not establish such a recovery method.
