The realme P4 Power 5G and Xiaomi REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G both pair roughly 10,000mAh batteries with AMOLED displays, but they prioritize different features. realme lists a 144Hz screen and a lower price for its 8GB+128GB model; Xiaomi lists faster 100W charging, a higher-resolution display and more storage in the compared 8GB model. The official India store listings checked showed ₹32,999 for the realme 8GB+128GB and ₹49,999 for the Xiaomi 8GB+256GB, a ₹17,000 gap between unlike storage configurations.

Battery and charging: almost equal listed capacity, faster charging from Xiaomi
realme gives the P4 Power a 10,001mAh typical battery capacity and 9,750mAh rated capacity. Xiaomi lists 10,000mAh typical capacity for the Redmi’s silicon-carbon battery. The 1mAh difference in typical capacity is nominal and is not evidence that the realme lasts longer in everyday use.
Xiaomi’s listed 100W charging maximum is higher than realme’s 80W maximum. Xiaomi also lists up to 27W wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to provide power to another device. These are maximum manufacturer specifications; they do not by themselves show actual charging time, which can depend on conditions and equipment.

Xiaomi claims “4+ days” on one charge for light use, based on its internal laboratory testing. Treat that as a qualified company claim, not an independent battery-life result; it is not a like-for-like test against the realme phone.
Display: realme favors refresh rate; Xiaomi lists higher resolution and HDR formats
The P4 Power’s 144Hz maximum refresh rate is higher than the Redmi’s 120Hz. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion appear smoother, though the specification alone does not establish how often a phone runs at its maximum rate or how much a user will notice.
Xiaomi lists a 1.5K panel, compared with realme’s FHD+ panel, and specifies HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. Both screens are AMOLED; realme lists 10-bit color, while Xiaomi lists 12-bit color. On the published specifications, the Redmi offers more resolution and named HDR formats, while realme offers the higher maximum refresh rate.

Performance and storage: compare exact configurations, not labels alone
realme lists the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G, LPDDR4X memory and UFS 3.1 storage. Its published configurations are 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB.
Xiaomi lists the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 (4nm), LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage, with 8GB or 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Those memory and storage-generation labels distinguish the listed hardware, but they are not substitutes for controlled testing of app responsiveness, gaming or sustained performance.
Cameras: similar rear-camera counts, different front-camera specifications
Both manufacturers list a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. realme specifies a 16MP front camera; Xiaomi specifies a 32MP front camera. Xiaomi lists 4K/30fps video recording from both front and rear cameras, while realme lists rear video up to 4K/30fps.

These figures describe resolution and listed recording modes, not image quality. Megapixel counts alone cannot establish which phone produces better photos or video.

Software updates: Xiaomi states a support period; a matching realme commitment is not established here
Xiaomi says the Redmi runs HyperOS 3 with Android 16 and will receive four years of OS updates and six years of security updates. The cited realme specification page does not state a comparable update-duration commitment, so the available information does not support a direct support-length comparison.
India price difference: ₹17,000 between the checked listings, not matching storage tiers

The observed selling-price gap is ₹17,000: the Xiaomi listing costs more, but it includes 256GB storage versus 128GB in the compared realme listing. This is not a like-for-like price premium or original launch-price comparison. Store prices and offers can change, so check the selected variant at purchase.
