The Realme Narzo N55 is worth considering only if you find it at a low current price and want a large 90Hz FHD+ screen, expandable storage and fast charging. Its Helio G88 is suited to routine use, not demanding games, and reviewers found its low-light photos, software experience and some other details less convincing. Since it launched in India in April 2023, check the phone’s condition, warranty and remaining software support before buying; its launch price is not a reliable guide to today’s value.
What the Narzo N55 offers
Realme’s India product page lists a 6.72-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Helio G88 processor, a 64MP rear camera and a 5000mAh typical-capacity battery. The phone launched in India in April 2023. These are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of how a used or old-stock handset will perform today.
Realme lists up to 6GB of built-in RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The 6GB model can add up to 6GB of dynamic RAM, but this virtual expansion is not equivalent to 6GB of physical memory. The specifications also include a dedicated microSD slot alongside dual SIM support. Realme’s India product page notes that specifications may vary with suppliers and that performance and measurements can vary with test conditions.

Large, sharp 90Hz display
The 6.72-inch FHD+ screen and 90Hz refresh rate are among the phone’s strongest features for its budget positioning. In its review, 91mobiles found the display good for the price. A higher refresh rate can make scrolling feel smoother, though it does not by itself make demanding games run well.

Fast charging on paper
Realme specifies 33W SUPERVOOC charging. Its product page claims a 50% charge in 29 minutes under lab conditions and warns that actual results vary with testing conditions and battery wear. Reviewers’ own experiences were different: TechLekh reported a little over an hour to charge its test phone from 0 to 100%, while 91mobiles reported less than two hours. Those are individual review observations, not guaranteed charging times for every device.
Capable enough for routine tasks
91mobiles found everyday performance satisfactory in its review. That supports a modest expectation for ordinary activities, rather than heavy multitasking or sustained gaming. The phone’s Helio G88 and up to 6GB physical RAM define its hardware ceiling; dynamic RAM should not be counted as a substitute for physical memory.

- Helio G96 Gaming Processor delivers powerful performance for gaming
- 6.6-inch FHD+ 120Hz Ultra Smooth Display provides an immersive viewing experience
- 33W Dart Charge provides ultrafast charging to 5000mAh battery
- AI Triple Camera system with 50MP main lens captures sharp, detailed photos
- realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 offers a smooth user interface
Daylight photography can work well
91mobiles found the rear camera capable in daylight, with good detail but colors that could look oversaturated. TechLekh also liked daylight camera results. Neither review supports expecting similarly reliable results indoors or at night.

Demanding games push the hardware
91mobiles observed performance strain in demanding games. If gaming is a priority, look for current, device-specific gaming tests rather than assuming the 90Hz screen means a high or stable frame rate.

Low-light images and video are limited
91mobiles reported grainier low-light images. TechLekh also criticized the lack of an ultrawide camera and video stabilization. If you often shoot in dim rooms, need wider scenes, or record moving subjects, those limitations matter more than the 64MP headline specification.
Software may feel cluttered
Both review sources noted software drawbacks: reviewers reported bloatware and ads, and TechLekh criticized software polish. Its reviewer summed up the experience this way: “The software is really where you notice how this is a budget phone.” That is a review opinion, not a guarantee that every user will encounter the same issues.

91mobiles found the side fingerprint reader occasionally unreliable and the speaker quality weak. These are observations from that review, not universal findings across all units.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which Narzo N55 variant makes sense?
The 6GB/128GB version offers twice the listed storage of the 4GB/64GB model, as well as 2GB more physical RAM. That can make it the more practical configuration if the price difference is small and the listing is in good condition. Do not count its dynamic RAM allowance as additional physical RAM. The 4GB/64GB version is only attractive if it is substantially cheaper and its lower capacity suits your needs.
Should you buy the Realme Narzo N55 today?
Consider it if you find a well-priced, properly warranted unit and prioritize a large high-refresh FHD+ display, expandable storage and fast charging for everyday use. Skip it if you need demanding-game performance, dependable low-light photography, stabilized video or a cleaner software experience.

Its review also named the Infinix Hot 20 5G and Infinix Note 12i as launch-era alternatives. Those comparisons do not establish which phone is the better buy now: check current local prices and stock, display, chipset performance, physical RAM and storage, camera samples, charging, update status and warranty before choosing. 91mobiles’ review reflects its test-period experience rather than a current-market ranking.
