The realme 16 Pro+ 5G lists a larger 144Hz display, higher-resolution main and telephoto cameras, a larger stated battery, and faster wired charging. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 FE counters with documented Galaxy AI features and a stated seven-generation OS upgrade and seven-year security update commitment in India. Samsung launch prices are available for the US and India, but the official realme pages reviewed do not establish a comparable price, so there is no verified like-for-like price difference to report.
These are manufacturer specifications, not independent camera, performance, or battery tests. Regional variants also differ, so check the exact model and local configuration before buying.

The realme has the larger listed panel and higher refresh-rate ceiling: 6.8 inches and up to 144Hz, compared with Samsung’s 6.7 inches and up to 120Hz. A higher refresh rate can allow smoother motion when content and software support it, but the figures alone do not establish which screen looks better in everyday use.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.78 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 6.78 inches
- 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM
- Android 16, Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm), Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm)
- Rear: 200 MP, f/1.9, 23mm (wide), 1/1.56", 0.5µm, dual-pixel PDAF, OIS, 8 MP, 112˚, (ultrawide), 1/4.0", 1.12µm, Front: 50 MP, f/2.4, 23mm (wide), 1/2.88", 0.61µm
Samsung lists a 1,900-nit brightness figure for the India model. That is a manufacturer specification; it is not a matched independent measurement against realme. The reviewed realme Europe specification does not give a comparable brightness figure.
Camera hardware: compare roles, not just megapixels
On the Europe specification, realme lists a 200MP main camera and 50MP telephoto camera, both with optical image stabilization (OIS), plus an 8MP ultrawide. Samsung India lists a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP telephoto with 3× optical zoom and OIS, and a 12MP ultrawide.
Those resolutions describe hardware, not photo quality. Sensor size, processing, focus, exposure, and the shooting conditions all matter, and the reviewed sources do not include an independent head-to-head camera test. Samsung’s launch materials also name My FanCam, Super Steady with Horizontal Lock, Nightography, and Photo Assist; those are documented features, not proof of better results in every scene.

The listed front-camera resolution is 50MP for realme Europe and 12MP for Samsung India. Resolution alone cannot determine selfie quality.
Battery size, charging, and performance
realme Europe lists a 7,000mAh typical battery capacity (6,840mAh rated) and charging up to 80W. The realme India page instead lists 7,000mAh typical and 6,850mAh rated. Samsung India lists 4,900mAh and 45W wired charging; Samsung UK’s product page also describes 15W wireless charging.
Capacity and maximum charging rates are not real-world endurance or charging-time tests. Actual battery life and charging behavior depend on use, settings, temperature, and compatible charging equipment. Check the local package and supported charging protocol before assuming a charger is included or that a particular adapter will reach the stated maximum.

- 161.8 x 76.9 x 8.2 mm (6.37 x 3.03 x 0.32 in)
The listed processors are Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for the realme Europe model and Exynos 2500 in Samsung India’s announcement. Chipset names alone do not establish which phone is faster; the reviewed sources contain no matched independent benchmark.
Software support and features
Samsung India states that the Galaxy S26 FE will receive seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch. The reviewed realme specification pages identify realme UI 7.0 but do not state a comparable support duration. That difference is about what the cited material explicitly commits to; it does not establish realme’s full support policy.
Samsung also promotes Galaxy AI features in its launch materials. If AI tools or a defined update term are priorities, confirm the features and support terms for the exact market and software version you intend to buy.

Price difference: Samsung launch prices, no verified realme match
The available Samsung figures are dated launch prices, not guaranteed current selling prices. No current realme price for the same country and storage configuration is established by the official realme pages reviewed.
- United States: Samsung announced a Galaxy S26 FE starting price of $699.99, with 128GB and 256GB options. The announcement said availability would begin September 3, 2026, at select carriers, and September 4 through Samsung.com, carriers, and retailers.
- India: Samsung listed the Galaxy S26 FE 8GB/256GB at INR 79,999. The launch announcement also described conditional exchange, EMI, and bank offers, which were mutually exclusive.
- realme: The reviewed official India and Europe specifications list configurations but not a price.
Sources: Samsung US launch announcement, Samsung India launch announcement, and realme India specifications. Do not compare the US dollar and Indian rupee figures as if they were the same market, or treat launch pricing as a current offer. To calculate a useful local difference, compare current prices for the same country, storage tier, and purchase conditions.
Regional variants: what to check before ordering
The realme India and Europe pages describe different configurations and connectivity. For example, the India specifications say eSIM and NFC are unsupported, while the Europe page lists eSIM support and NFC, subject to regional caveats. Storage options and rated battery capacity also differ between the two pages. Samsung storage, pricing, offers, and availability likewise vary by market.
- Confirm the exact model code and storage configuration on the listing.
- Check that cellular bands support your carrier and location.
- Verify eSIM and NFC availability if you rely on either feature.
- Check local warranty terms and what accessories are included in the box.

Which one fits your priorities?
- Consider the realme 16 Pro+ if the listed larger 144Hz display, high-resolution main and telephoto camera hardware, 7,000mAh typical battery, or up-to-80W wired charging are the specifications you value. Verify your local variant and price first.
- Consider the Galaxy S26 FE if Samsung’s documented Galaxy AI features or its India-announced update commitment are important to you, or if its camera features and regional availability better fit your needs.
- Wait to decide on price until you can compare current local listings for the same storage tier. The evidence here does not support a direct price winner.
For image quality, everyday speed, and battery runtime, these specifications do not settle the comparison; an independent matched test would be needed for a performance verdict.
