OPPO’s dated India reference prices are ₹66,999 and ₹72,999; the official realme pages cited here do not provide a numeric price, so a reliable current price difference cannot be calculated.
India models and price difference
This comparison covers the India-market realme 16 Pro+ 5G and OPPO Reno16 5G, model CPH2865. OPPO warns that Reno16 specifications and prices vary by country, so figures for this India model should not be applied to other Reno16-family phones. OPPO’s global announcement likewise says regional pricing, availability and release timing vary. OPPO global announcement
OPPO India lists the Reno16 at ₹66,999 for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, or ₹72,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Specifications are from the realme India specification sheet, realme India product page and OPPO India details page. They describe listed hardware, not independently measured performance, battery life or image quality.
Where the phones differ
Display size and refresh rate
realme’s listed 6.8-inch panel is substantially larger than OPPO’s 6.32-inch display, and its maximum listed refresh rate is 144Hz rather than 120Hz. That makes screen size and refresh-rate preference a clear spec-sheet distinction. The figures alone do not determine which phone will feel more comfortable to hold or how smooth every app will appear.

- 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM
- Android 16, Qualcomm SM7750-AB Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (4 nm), Octa-core (1x2.8 GHz Cortex-720 & 4x2.4 GHz Cortex-720 & 3x1.8 GHz Cortex-520)

Camera hardware and focus
realme emphasizes a 200MP main camera and includes an 8MP ultra-wide. OPPO uses a three-camera rear setup with 50MP sensors across its wide, ultra-wide and telephoto cameras, and it specifically lists 3.5x optical zoom for the telephoto. On the front, both list 50MP cameras, but OPPO specifies autofocus and realme specifies fixed focus. Sensor resolution by itself does not establish which phone takes better photos; the cited manufacturer pages are not comparative camera tests.
Shared chipset, charging and capacity difference
Both manufacturers list the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with Adreno 722 graphics at 1150MHz, as well as 80W wired charging. The matching chipset name is not proof of identical benchmark scores, sustained performance, thermals or gaming experience. realme lists a higher typical battery capacity—7000mAh versus OPPO’s 6700mAh—but capacity figures are not runtime tests, and real-world battery life depends on use and conditions.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the realme 16 Pro+ if you prefer a larger display, want the higher listed refresh-rate ceiling, value a 200MP main-camera specification, or want a 128GB configuration as an option.
- Consider the OPPO Reno16 if you prefer the smaller listed screen, want an explicitly specified 3.5x optical telephoto camera, or need autofocus on the front camera.
- For a price decision, compare live India prices for 8GB + 256GB or 12GB + 256GB on both phones. OPPO’s published amounts are dated reference prices, and a current official realme figure is not available in the cited pages.
Neither the shared chipset nor the listed camera and battery figures establish an overall performance or image-quality winner. For those judgments, specifications would need to be supplemented by comparable independent tests and by checking local stock, warranty and support for the exact model.
