The realme 13 Pro+ is worth considering if portrait and telephoto photography matter more to you than gaming performance. Its 50MP periscope camera gives it a useful point of distinction, while its OLED screen and fast charging round out a capable everyday phone. The trade-offs are weaker performance than some rivals, a less convincing ultra-wide camera, pre-installed apps, and an update policy that should be verified before buying.
What makes the realme 13 Pro+ different?
The clearest reason to choose the realme 13 Pro+ is its 50MP periscope telephoto camera. The India model pairs it with a 50MP main camera, both with optical image stabilization (OIS), plus an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The periscope lens has a 73mm-equivalent focal length, making it suited to portraits and zoomed-in shots without relying solely on digital crop. The official India specifications list these cameras and the 32MP front camera: realme’s India specifications.
That camera setup is more compelling than the ultra-wide camera. In their 2024 reviews, Gadgets 360 praised the main and telephoto cameras but called the ultra-wide mediocre; 91mobiles found the main and periscope images detailed and vibrant, while describing ultra-wide photos as muted. 91mobiles also observed slightly boosted reds and greens and said image processing could take about three to four seconds. Realme’s India specifications describe the realme 13 Pro+ 5G with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, configurations up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, and a 6.7-inch OLED display with 2412 × 1080 resolution and a refresh rate up to 120Hz. The listed battery is 5,200mAh typical capacity, with 80W SUPERVOOC charging. The specifications also list Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and say NFC is absent. These details are for the India model; regional versions, network bands, included items, and operator support may differ.

How good are its cameras?
The main and periscope cameras are the phone’s strongest features in the reviews. The main camera has a 50MP Sony LYT-701 sensor with OIS, while the 50MP Sony LYT-600 periscope camera also has OIS. The pair gives the phone flexibility for standard shots and tighter portrait framing. Reviewers generally liked the detail and vibrancy, though 91mobiles noted color boosting and occasional processing delays.
The 8MP ultra-wide is the compromise: both reviews found it weaker than the other rear cameras. If you often photograph wide landscapes, interiors, or large groups, expect a more noticeable quality gap when switching lenses. Rear video is listed at up to 4K at 30 frames per second on the India specifications page.
Is performance good enough?
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is adequate for casual use, but it is not the reason to buy this phone. 91mobiles judged it behind the OnePlus Nord 4 and POCO F6 for power users. Its review unit handled several demanding games, but BGMI ran at 40 FPS rather than 60 FPS in Ultra HDR settings. That makes the realme a less suitable choice if high frame rates or sustained high-end performance are priorities.

For ordinary browsing, messaging, video, and camera use, the reviewed performance was considered sufficient. For gaming-focused buyers, compare current versions and prices of performance-oriented alternatives rather than assuming the camera advantage compensates for slower play.
What are the screen, battery, and charging like?
The 6.7-inch OLED panel, Full HD+ resolution, and up-to-120Hz refresh rate provide the ingredients for a vivid, smooth screen. Gadgets 360 described the display positively. The specification page establishes the panel and refresh-rate ceiling, but not a measured brightness figure, so the 120Hz rating alone should not be treated as proof of outdoor visibility.
Battery life was a relative strength in the reviews. In 91mobiles’ 2024 testing, the phone recorded 11 hours and 34 minutes in PCMark from 100% down to 20%. In a separate 30-minute YouTube test at 50% brightness and volume, it used 5% battery. The same reviewer measured 38 minutes to charge from 20% to 100%. Gadgets 360 reported a separate empty-to-full charge in under 1 hour and 10 minutes. These are results from different reviewer tests and conditions, not guaranteed everyday outcomes.

Realme lists an 80W adapter in the India package. It also lists a protective case and screen film. Confirm the box contents for your region and seller before purchase.
What are the software drawbacks?
The phone shipped with Android 14-based realme UI 5.0 in India. 91mobiles counted 55 pre-installed apps on its review unit, including seven third-party apps; Gadgets 360 also listed bloatware among its drawbacks. Some pre-installed apps may be removable, but the reviews make clear that the initial software experience is not especially clean.
91mobiles’ 2024 comparison table listed two major Android OS updates and three years of security updates for the phone. That is review-era information, not confirmation of the policy currently in force. Check realme’s current support terms for your region and the exact model before buying, particularly if you plan to keep the phone for several years.

Should you buy the realme 13 Pro+?
Buy it if portraits and telephoto photos are central to how you use a phone, and you also value an OLED display, strong battery results in reviews, and fast charging. Skip it if your priorities are demanding gaming, the cleanest software setup, or consistently strong results across all three rear cameras.
Price changes the calculation. 91mobiles reported an India launch price from ₹32,999 and offers as low as ₹29,999 in its 2024 review; Gadgets 360 listed the 8GB/256GB variant at ₹32,999 at review time. Those are historical launch- and review-era figures, not current prices. Check local pricing, stock, configuration, and software policy before deciding. Review conclusions cited here are from hands-on reviews published in July and August 2024, so they do not establish the phone’s current value in every market.
