Delhi Police reportedly arrested Sarban Singh, owner of Joshi Clinical Laboratory, in the Jalandhar area in connection with an alleged forged work-experience certificate submitted with a US visa application. Police say the certificate purported to show lab-technician experience at Singh’s laboratory. The allegations have not been established in court, and the available reports do not give a later court outcome.
Why was the Punjab lab owner arrested?
Hindustan Times reported on October 2, 2026, citing New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Sharma, that Singh was arrested “earlier this week” in the Jalandhar area. The report did not specify the exact arrest date. Police allege the case involves a forged lab-technician experience certificate associated with a US visa application.
According to the police account reported by Hindustan Times, police received information on March 24, 2026, from Jeffery B. Gieser, identified as an Overseas Criminal Investigator at the US Embassy’s Regional Security Office in New Delhi, about allegedly forged documents associated with a visa application. The complaint reportedly concerned Simranjit Kaur, a 22-year-old from Kapurthala.

Police allege that Kaur submitted an experience certificate purporting to be from Joshi Clinical Laboratory in Sultanpur Lodhi, Punjab. Hindustan Times reported that Kaur told investigators Singh prepared and supplied the certificate and that she paid him ₹8,000. Police also reportedly said an electronic device used to prepare the alleged certificate was seized; a Punjabi-language report described it as a CPU.
