Yes. Public Mobile made multiple 2026 changes, but there was not one across-the-board increase for every subscriber. Its current Canada-wide 4G lineup lists plans from $22 to $30 per month, while reported changes include a $4 increase for some customers moving from a $20 plan and a $2 increase to the 10GB tier.
Public Mobile’s current 4G plan prices
Public Mobile’s Canada-wide plans page currently lists these 4G-speed options, each with unlimited talk and text. The carrier also advertises 2% back in Public Points. Check the current plans page for availability and terms, which can change.
| Monthly price | Included data at 4G speed | Talk and text | Roaming |
|---|---|---|---|
| $22 | 1GB | Unlimited | Canada-wide plan; roaming not stated on the cited plans page |
| $24 | 5GB | Unlimited | Canada-wide plan; roaming not stated on the cited plans page |
| $28 | 10GB | Unlimited | Canada-wide plan; roaming not stated on the cited plans page |
| $30 | 35GB | Unlimited | Canada-wide plan; roaming not stated on the cited plans page |
The entry-level talk-and-text option is therefore currently $22 per month and includes 1GB at 4G speed; it is not a talk-and-text-only plan. The cited plan listing does not establish roaming inclusions for these options.
What changed in 2026
Some $20 subscribers were notified of a $4 increase
A Public Mobile customer notice said: “Starting April 1, 2026, your monthly plan will increase by $4 per month, from $20 to $24 at the next renewal.” The notice paired that renewal change with an improved $24 plan offering 8GB and told customers to check the “Change Subscription” page in their account. The notice was reproduced in the carrier community; see the notice.

This was an account-specific renewal change, not proof that every Public Mobile customer’s plan rose by $4. The available public information does not give a complete schedule of affected legacy plans, renewal dates or replacement offers for every account.
The 10GB 4G tier rose from $26 to $28
A July 2026 report documented the 10GB 4G plan moving from $26 to $28 per month. The same report listed the surrounding offers as $22 for talk and text, $24 for 5GB and $30 for 35GB. See iPhone in Canada’s report.

Some data allowances changed too
April reporting said the $22 talk-and-text plan lost 500MB of data, while a $35 5G plan gained 5GB. Those changes show why a price comparison alone may not describe what changed for a particular offer. The April report covers those adjustments.

How to check whether your own plan is changing
- Sign in to your Public Mobile account and open Change Subscription.
- Compare the displayed replacement offer with your existing plan, including monthly price, included data, speed, talk and text, and any roaming features shown.
- Check the notice and your next renewal date in your account before deciding whether to change subscriptions. The public notice does not establish the offer or renewal timing for every subscriber.
- Review the live plans page for public offers, then compare them with your account-specific options rather than assuming the public listing is identical to a renewal offer.
