Zu3D is stop-motion animation software for children, educators, families, clubs, and hobbyist filmmakers. It captures frames from webcams and device cameras, then provides tools for arranging and refining those frames into films. Onion skinning helps align successive shots, while timeline editing, audio recording, titles, credits, speech bubbles, drawing tools, and MP4 export support projects from first capture through delivery. Its audience is broad, but the product is especially suited to home projects and classroom activities where guided creative tools matter more than a large production ecosystem.
The feature set covers the core stop-motion workflow in one application. Automatic frame capture and time-lapse can support repeatable shooting, while frame and timeline editing offer two ways to shape the result. Multiple audio tracks allow layered sound, and green-screen compositing, rig removal, titles, credits, and drawings extend the project beyond basic frame assembly. The platform mix is practical for mixed environments: desktop software is available for Windows and macOS, with iPad apps for education and home use.
