MOTK Shoot is an open-source stop-motion capture studio for animators, filmmakers, educators, and creators who want a free workflow across web, Windows, and iOS. It supports webcams, UVC devices, and HDMI-USB capture, while the Windows local edition provides a desktop shooting workflow. The product combines live camera view, frame capture, onion skinning, composition guides, timeline review, audio, X-Sheet cues, recovery storage, backup, and export tools in one focused application.

Its standout feature is the depth of capture and review controls. Onion skinning includes previous and next ghosts, blend modes, opacity, and registration offsets. Supported cameras can expose manual controls, exposure-related settings, focus aids, histogram, and zebra display. The timeline supports ordering, frame stepping, scrubbing, holds, playback, looping, undo, and capture-bin management. Composition grids, aspect masks, safe areas, reference layers, annotations, waveform display, multi-track audio, and dialogue or phoneme cues extend the workflow beyond basic frame grabbing.

MOTK Shoot also fits production workflows that connect capture with later finishing. Integrations include After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Maxon Autograph, a WebSocket bridge, and a scripting API.
