Zscaler Cloud Firewall is a cloud-native firewall service for organizations securing users, applications, locations, and cloud environments. It protects web and non-web traffic across ports and protocols, with TLS/SSL inspection, cloud-delivered intrusion prevention, centralized policy management, bandwidth control, and DNS security. Its design suits distributed and work-from-anywhere environments, especially teams seeking secure internet access without traditional firewall appliances.
The service connects with a broad enterprise ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Zoom, AWS, Microsoft, Google, Okta, Splunk, CrowdStrike, and SD-WAN platforms. Traffic logging supports SIEM/XDR integration, while secure local internet breakouts help organizations route internet traffic closer to users and locations. The available interfaces are web and API, giving teams options for administration and programmatic access.
Zscaler offers two stated platform bundles. Essentials Platform includes Secure Internet Access, ZPA Standard, and Standard Firewall. Zscaler Platform adds Private Access for all users and Data Security while retaining Secure Internet Access and Standard Firewall. The firewall is positioned for organizations that want inspection across web and non-web traffic, custom intrusion-prevention signatures, DNS tunneling detection, and centralized control. Teams that need a cloud-delivered security layer with integrations across identity, cloud, productivity, and monitoring tools should consider it. Organizations centered on physical appliances or requiring site-to-site VPN support should evaluate alternatives that match those requirements.
