ZoneEdit Dynamic DNS keeps a hostname pointed at changing IPv4 or IPv6 addresses. It is designed for home networks, offices, labs, NAS devices, cameras, VPNs, game servers, and PBX systems. Users can create a DYN record, generate a per-domain authentication token, and configure a router, NAS, DDNS client, or custom HTTP updater. The cloud service is available through the web and API, with support aimed at solo users, small businesses, and mid-market teams.

Pricing uses prepaid credits rather than a conventional recurring subscription. The 1-credit pack costs $1.40 per month for one service-month credit and covers one managed DNS zone for one month. The 5-credit pack costs $5 per month for five service-months. Annual options include Basic at $12 for 12 credits, Multi at $30 for 36 credits, Power at $75 for 120 credits, 600-credit pack at $285, and 1200-credit pack at $500. These cover about 1, 3, 10, 50, and 100 managed DNS zones for 12 months, respectively. A free plan supports one personal or academic zone and 100,000 DNS queries per month.

The product’s main strength is its practical dynamic DNS ecosystem. Integrations include OpenWrt, pfSense, OPNsense, DD-WRT, FreshTomato, Synology, TrueNAS, Linux, Raspberry Pi, ddclient, In-a-dyn, Docker DDNS-Updater, acme.sh, lego, and Posh-ACME. Endpoint health checks enable DNS failover, while AXFR and NOTIFY support secondary DNS. DNSSEC inline signing is available for domains registered with ZoneEdit. Choose ZoneEdit for changing-address DNS and small-network failover; teams needing traffic steering should look elsewhere.
