Zomboid Control Panel review
A focused, open-source control panel for managing Project Zomboid servers.

Zomboid Control Panel is a self-hosted web application for operating one or more Project Zomboid dedicated servers. It is aimed at communities and administrators who want a central interface for setup, maintenance, player administration, configuration editing, and server monitoring. The panel runs on Windows, Linux, Docker, a VPS, or macOS through Docker, with controls for starting, stopping, restarting, and saving servers. Its focus is narrow, but that focus gives Project Zomboid operators a dedicated set of tools rather than a general-purpose game panel.
The strongest fit is its coverage of recurring server operations. A setup wizard helps provision Project Zomboid servers, while the live log viewer, RCON terminal, player world map, telemetry, and diagnostics support ongoing administration. Steam Workshop integration handles mod management and load-order handling. Scheduled restarts, saves, broadcasts, and manual or scheduled world backups address routine maintenance. Role-based permissions and custom roles are useful for communities with multiple administrators, and the Discord bot adds chat relay and notifications. Optional identity integrations include OpenID Connect, Google, Authentik, Keycloak, Azure AD, Okta, and Auth0.
The trade-off is scope and deployment responsibility. Zomboid Control Panel supports only Project Zomboid, so communities running other games need a different or additional control panel. Its self-hosted model provides deployment flexibility but places installation and operation with the administrator. The project is MIT-licensed and available as open source, with a free plan and no paid tiers described. For Project Zomboid communities that want detailed Workshop, scheduling, backup, access-control, and Discord features, it is a strong match. Teams seeking a multi-game panel or a managed service should choose an alternative.
