Zendesk Employee Service is a cloud-based internal service platform for IT, HR and other employee-facing teams. It combines ticketing and request management with AI agents, a knowledge base, an employee self-service portal, a service catalog, workflow tasks, approvals, service-level agreements and IT asset management. Employees can request help through email, help centers, messaging, voice and live chat, while service teams manage requests in a unified workspace. It fits organizations that want one employee support experience across departments rather than a narrowly focused IT ticketing tool.
The published plans start with Suite Team at $29 per agent per month when billed annually. It includes AI agents, a knowledge base, Action Builder, email support and prebuilt analytics dashboards. Suite Growth costs $59 per agent per month on annual billing and adds IT asset management, a service catalog, a self-service employee portal, tasks and approvals, and service-level agreements. Suite Professional is $99 per agent per month annually, with Admin Copilot, App Builder, writing tools, quick reports and skills-based routing. Suite Enterprise includes a sandbox environment, custom agent roles, customizable reporting, audit logs and department spaces. A 14-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan.
Platform fit is a major strength. Zendesk Employee Service supports web, iOS, Android and API access, with integrations for Slack, Microsoft Teams and Workday. Its channel coverage includes email, help center, web and mobile messaging, social messaging, voice, text, live chat, web widgets, mobile SDKs and API connections. The trade-off is scope: its verified ITSM depth is narrower than leading full-stack ITSM products. Choose it when omnichannel employee support, AI assistance and cross-department service matter most; consider a broader full-stack ITSM platform when deeper IT service management is the primary requirement.
