Our verdict on Zencastr
Zencastr is a podcast creation platform for individual creators and podcast teams that need recording, editing, transcription, hosting, and publishing tools in one workflow. Sessions can run in a browser, on desktop, or through iOS. Each participant’s device records separate audio and video tracks locally, while files upload progressively and receive automatic cloud backups. The platform supports MP3 and WAV audio, separate MOV video files, and 4K video with 48 kHz WAV recording on the free Vibecastr plan.
The published plans show a free Vibecastr tier at $0 per user per month, with up to six participants, unlimited separate audio and video recording and downloads, and unlimited transcription hours. It also includes text-based editing, speaker-labeled transcription, podcast hosting, publishing, social clips, and video layouts. Enterprise adds custom participant capacity plus custom recording, editing, hosting, publishing, and support features. This makes the free plan a substantial starting point, while larger teams need to assess the custom Enterprise arrangement.
Zencastr’s platform and ecosystem coverage suit creators who want to move from a recorded session to finished media without changing tools. Integrations include Google Drive, Dropbox, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, and the product includes AI features for transcription and content workflows. Choose Zencastr if local multitrack recording, video, editing, and distribution matter together. A simpler recorder may be a better fit for users who only need basic capture, while teams above six participants should consider the Enterprise offering for custom capacity.
