YvLink review
A flexible Rust proxy for routed, monitored Minecraft networks with failover needs.

YvLink is an open-source, self-hosted Minecraft Java TCP forwarding proxy written in Rust and Tokio. It routes players according to the hostname in the Minecraft handshake, making it suitable for networks that expose multiple Minecraft domains or need controlled traffic distribution across backend servers. Its compatibility covers Vanilla, Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge traffic, with support for Paper and Velocity backends in its proxy compatibility scope.
Routing is the product’s strongest area. Backend pools support sequential, random, round-robin, least-connections, and lowest-latency selection, giving network administrators several ways to match traffic to their infrastructure. Automatic backend failover is paired with TCP or Minecraft Status health checks, while server-list responses can be customized or proxied from a backend. Pre-login player-name allowlists and custom rejection messages add another layer of access control. A browser-based management console brings configuration, metrics, and backend health views into one administration surface.
YvLink also connects with Geyser Standalone, GeyserLite, and ViaLite. Geyser options extend the setup toward Bedrock crossplay, while ViaLite can be managed as a subprocess for Java backend version compatibility. The published compatibility scope includes Forge 1.8–1.12.2, Forge 1.13–1.20.1, Forge/NeoForge 1.20.2+, and Fabric 1.21.1. Choose YvLink if your priority is detailed routing, health monitoring, and failover in a self-managed network. Consider another proxy if player transfer is required or if you prefer a hosted deployment rather than operating the infrastructure yourself.
