Our verdict on YuE

YuE is an open-source music-generation model from HKUST and M-A-P for creating full songs from lyrics, genre or style prompts, vocals, and accompaniment. It is aimed at technical users who want local execution and more control over the generation workflow than a hosted music tool typically provides. Prompts can specify genre, instruments, mood, gender, timbre, and vocal techniques, while multi-language lyric support broadens its use for different song styles.

Its strongest differentiator is the range of conditioning and output options. YuE can use a single-track audio reference for in-context generation and style transfer, or accept separate vocal and instrumental prompts through dual-track conditioning.
