YTD Video Downloader is a freemium desktop application for downloading video, audio, and music from more than 50 sites. It is aimed at Windows and macOS users who want one tool for saving online media, converting files, managing playlists and channels, and playing downloads offline. The application supports formats including MP4, MP3, WAV, MKV, M4A, FLV, MOV, 3GP, and AVI, with an activity panel for managing downloads and conversions.
Pricing follows a clear progression by plan. The Free plan includes HD downloads up to 1080p with community and FAQ support. Lite costs $6.99 per month or $35.88 per year and adds an ad-free experience and dedicated support while retaining downloads up to 1080p. Pro costs $9.99 per month or $47.88 per year, adding 4K downloads, unlimited downloads, and unlimited playlists and channels. Ultimate costs $12.99 per month or $71.88 per year and adds 8K downloads and captions and subtitles. The published starting price is $2.99 per month billed annually, while the listed annual plan prices provide the named tier costs.
Its strongest fit is breadth: YTD combines multi-site downloading, format conversion, playlist and channel support, offline playback, and automatic resume and retry for interrupted downloads. Paid plans also expand simultaneous downloading, with up to three on Pro and unlimited on Ultimate. That makes it suitable for users managing varied media libraries or prioritizing conversion choices and higher video quality. It is less suitable for users who need a browser-based or broader platform workflow, since the product is presented as a Windows and macOS desktop application. Users satisfied with 1080p can start with Free, while 4K, 8K, captions, subtitles, or unlimited downloading point toward Pro or Ultimate.
