Yomu EBook Reader is a freemium ebook app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, aimed at people reading DRM-free books. It imports EPUB, MOBI, Kindle, comic, and PDF files, while offering library organization through folders, tags, sorting, and metadata editing. Readers can use bookmarks, offline access, full-text search for EPUB, MOBI, and Kindle documents, plus text selection, highlights, notes, and annotations for supported text formats. Its strongest fit is for Apple readers who want their reading library and annotations in one app.

The published plans show a straightforward one-time pricing model. The free version includes core reading features, but has a ten-document limit and advertisements. Yomu Pro costs $7.99 one-time, removes document restrictions and advertisements, and enables the Cloud Library option. Yomu Pro (Karma) costs $12.99 one-time, includes the same features as Yomu Pro, and supports further app development. The paid tiers are therefore most relevant to readers with larger libraries or those who want iCloud-based synchronization.

Yomu’s ecosystem fit is centered on Apple services and file workflows. It supports Apple iCloud, Apple Files, AirDrop, Dropbox, Google Drive, OPDS, Apple Shortcuts, and Readwise. Optional iCloud synchronization can cover books, annotations, folders, tags, and reading state, while imported documents remain available offline. Annotation export to text, Markdown, or JSON gives research-oriented readers a practical way to move notes elsewhere. PDF and comic support is primarily viewer-level, and text selection and annotations are supported for EPUB, MOBI, and Kindle formats. Choose Yomu for Apple-focused DRM-free reading and annotation workflows; choose an alternative if you need broader platform coverage or deeper PDF and comic markup.
