WPMU DEV combines managed WordPress hosting with site management, security, backups, staging, performance tools, and WordPress-focused support. It is aimed at developers, freelancers, agencies, and teams that manage sites and need centralized administration, migration assistance, deployment workflows, and hosting options for individual or larger groups of sites. The service runs on the web and through an API, with dedicated hosting and unlimited hosting servers available across its portfolio.

The published monthly plans cover different site sizes and workloads. Quantum costs $8 per site per month for small or low-traffic sites and includes 512 MB RAM, 1 vCPU, 5 TB bandwidth, and unlimited visitors. Bronze costs $24, Bronze Plus $30, and Bronze Max $46 per site per month; Bronze and Bronze Plus provide 1 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 10 TB bandwidth, and unlimited visitors, while Bronze Max provides 2 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 10 TB bandwidth, and unlimited visitors. Silver costs $60 per site per month with 2 GB RAM, 2 vCPUs, 25 TB bandwidth, and unlimited visitors. For larger portfolios, Alpha MU costs $15 per server per month for 50+ sites, while Beta MU costs $23 per server per month for 100+ sites.

Its WordPress-oriented ecosystem includes Amazon S3, Google Drive, Dropbox, Cloudflare, and New Relic integrations, alongside SFTP, SSH, WP-CLI, Git, Composer, and NPM support. Automatic daily and incremental backups have 30-day remote retention, and the platform includes malware scanning, a WAF, free SSL certificates, dedicated IP addresses, and a 119-point CDN allowance. The CDN is not active by default, while malware removal is separately priced. Choose WPMU DEV for low-cost managed WordPress operations with developer workflows; consider another option if included malware removal or simpler per-site scaling is essential.
