Our verdict on Workybooks
Workybooks is a web-based reading and learning resource for K–8 teachers, parents and homeschoolers who need passage activities in printable and digital formats. Its library includes leveled fiction and nonfiction passages, comprehension questions, worksheets, games and AI-generated activities. Teachers can browse resources by Common Core and NGSS standards, assign interactive work, and view auto-graded scores in a teacher dashboard. Differentiation includes two reading levels, editable passages, audio narration and translation support.
The purchasing options suit different levels of use. The Free plan costs $0 and includes limited resources, one download per day, 30-day assignment history and one Instant Assign by code per day. Premium is $49.99 per year, billed annually, and adds access to all 10,000+ resources, unlimited downloads, full assignment history and unlimited Instant Assign sessions. Alternatively, individual worksheets, games or readers cost $1.50 per item, with printable and digital formats and no auto-renewal. Occasional sale pricing is separate from the regular annual price. Free access or individual purchases may suit occasional use; regular classroom use is more likely to benefit from Premium.
The combination of standards tags, auto-grading and Google Classroom, Clever and LTI 1.3 integrations makes Workybooks a practical fit for educators who want ready-to-assign reading practice alongside printable materials. AI can generate passages, quizzes, vocabulary and writing activities, while audio and translation support broaden how learners access content. The focus is on differentiated resources rather than automatically adapting difficulty: there is no adaptive difficulty. Choose Workybooks for a broad activity library with flexible delivery and classroom assignment tools; look elsewhere if automatic level adjustment is essential.
