WinGate review
A Windows-only gateway combining firewalling, proxies, NAT, policies and monitoring.

WinGate is Windows software for managing shared internet connectivity, network access and gateway services. It combines a stateful packet-level firewall with Network Address Translation, HTTP and SOCKS proxy services, application proxying, access policies, user and group management, traffic monitoring, logging, remote administration, DHCP and DNS services. It fits organizations managing Windows-based gateways, proxy traffic and network access across multiple concurrent users, particularly where Active Directory integration and application-level control matter.
Pricing is organized by license type and concurrent-user capacity. A free 10-user license is feature-equivalent to Standard with restrictions. Paid Standard licenses include 6 concurrent users for $109.95 per license or 12 concurrent users for $199.95 per license. Professional starts at $164.95 per license for 6 concurrent users, rises to $329.95 for 12, $549.95 for 25, $824.95 for 50 and $999.95 for 100. A Professional 250 concurrent-user plan is also listed. The published plans show a 30-day trial, giving prospective buyers a way to evaluate the product before selecting a license.
Its strongest fit is a Windows-centered network that needs more than basic perimeter filtering. Flow-chart, global and per-service access policies provide control over outbound and inbound traffic, while WinGate Internet Client supports application execution control. Active Directory integration connects access management to an existing directory, and Kaspersky AntiVirus for WinGate is listed as an integration. Monitoring, real-time activity views, logging and remote administration add operational visibility. Buyers seeking a Windows gateway with proxy and network-service breadth should consider WinGate; organizations requiring a cross-platform firewall should choose another product.
