Our verdict on Wiise
Wiise is a cloud ERP built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, aimed at Australian organisations including not-for-profits. Its fund accounting capabilities let teams tag transactions by fund, program, grant, funder, location or department, then report on those dimensions for funders and boards. Accounting, payroll, reporting and multi-entity operations sit within the same product, making it relevant to nonprofits that need more than a standalone fund ledger. It is less suited to organisations seeking a simple accounting tool with minimal implementation needs, since Wiise is partner-implemented.
Its budgeting features are a notable fit for finance teams that need to monitor restricted funds and program activity. Wiise can create, import and export general-ledger budgets, compare budgeted and actual amounts across accounts or dimensions, and generate budgets from historical financial data with AI forecasting. Actual-versus-budget reporting includes variance and year-to-date comparisons. Approval workflows and audit trails support financial control. These capabilities are useful where accountability across grants and programs matters, though they are part of a broader ERP rather than a narrow grant-management product.
The published NFP plans separate light-use access from full access: NFP Team Member licenses are intended for light tasks and running reports, while NFP Full User licenses provide access to features in the selected Business or Premium edition. Each is offered in monthly and annual billing versions. According to the vendor's pricing notes, NFP rates require approved eligibility, and license cost depends on license type and billing period. Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI integrations make the product a stronger fit for organisations already aligned with that ecosystem. Consider Wiise if fund dimensions, budget comparisons and consolidated reporting matter; teams wanting a standalone system or direct, self-service setup should weigh alternatives.
