Weather Underground review
A map-focused weather app pairing local forecasts with personal-station data.

Weather Underground brings location-focused forecasts and current conditions to Android, with web access as well. It combines forecast models with information from personal weather stations, making it a fit for people who want local weather detail alongside map-based tools. Interactive radar and satellite imagery, severe-weather alerts, and customizable map overlays support a more visual way to follow conditions. The focus is on hyperlocal weather rather than a broad collection of unrelated features.
The Free plan provides ad-supported access to core features. Premium removes ads and adds Smart Forecasts for outdoor activities, plus extended hourly forecasts up to 15 days. The app subscription is annual. The website also describes a separate Ad Free subscription for wunderground.com; that subscription does not provide Premium app access. Buyers should distinguish between the website option and the app's Premium plan when deciding which features they want.
Maps are a central strength: users can view radar and satellite imagery, choose map types and overlays, and use light or dark display modes. Severe-weather alerts add a practical companion to those visual tools. Choose Weather Underground if personal-station information, map layers, and local conditions are priorities, or if a 15-day hourly outlook and outdoor-activity Smart Forecasts justify Premium. It is less suited to someone who wants an ad-free experience without a subscription, since the Free plan is ad-supported and ad removal is a Premium benefit.
