Our verdict on Wantogo
Wantogo is an Android travel planning app for travelers who want to collect destinations, discover nearby places, and turn saved locations into day-by-day itineraries. Its AI travel companion is powered by Gemini, while interactive maps show category markers and support proximity search. The app also combines wishlist and visited-place tracking with voice search, giving travelers several ways to organize a trip from one mobile workspace. Document scanning and OCR extend that planning workflow to travel records.
Wantogo’s strongest fit is its connection between saved-place discovery and itinerary organization. Users can import places from Google Maps and Instagram, then arrange those locations into itinerary days. Google Places live search adds nearby restaurants, hotels, and services, while map markers help organize discovery by category and proximity. Google Gemini, Groq, Google Maps, Google Places, and Instagram are listed integrations, making the app most suitable for travelers already working across those services. The result is a focused planning experience rather than a broad travel-services platform.
The pricing model is freemium, with a free plan and a 60-day Pro-access promotion for the first 50 users. Wantogo is currently available on Android, and the vendor lists iOS as coming soon. Choose it if you want an Android-based companion that combines AI itinerary planning, place imports, nearby search, voice input, and OCR document scanning. Travelers who need iOS access today or a workflow centered beyond itinerary planning should consider whether its current platform and feature focus match their needs.
