VPSnet Hermes Agent packages the open-source Hermes Agent as an application-catalog installation for VPSnet VPS and Cloud VPS servers. It is aimed at solo users, small teams and mid-market organizations that want a self-hosted agent with web and Linux access. Hermes provides conversations, file and terminal tools, persistent memory, scheduled tasks and messaging integrations, while deployment remains on a VPSnet server under the customer’s control.

Pricing is tied to server plans rather than a separate Hermes Agent subscription. VPS-2 costs €9.99 per month and includes 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 25 GB NVMe SSD, 5 TB traffic and daily backups. KVM-1 Cloud VPS costs €12.99 per month and includes 1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 30 GB NVMe SSD, 8 TB traffic, High Availability and daily backups. VPS-2 matches the listed minimum Hermes requirements, while the product has no free plan. A 30-day refund period is available.

Setup centers on VPSnet’s panel: installation is one click, one-time credentials are presented there, and a managed HTTPS hostname option is available. After deployment, the panel exposes restart, logs, health, update and uninstall controls, reducing the need to manage these actions separately. The trade-off is that customers must provide a suitable server and maintain their choice within VPSnet’s infrastructure and plans. Choose it when panel-based administration and persistent Hermes capabilities matter; consider another option if you need a hosted agent subscription independent of server selection or support for multiple agent platforms.

VPSnet Hermes Agent pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • One-click Hermes installation from the VPSnet Applications catalog
    • Persistent memory, scheduled tasks and messaging integrations
    • Panel controls for logs, health checks, updates and uninstall
  • Where it doesn't
    • Requires a suitable VPSnet server that meets Hermes minimum resources
    • No free plan or separately priced Hermes Agent subscription
    • Supports Hermes Agent rather than a broader agent template selection
