VoIPmonitor review
Deep SIP and VoIP analysis for teams monitoring call quality, traffic, and fraud.

VoIPmonitor combines an open-source network packet sniffer with a commercial web interface for monitoring, troubleshooting, recording, and analyzing VoIP and real-time communications traffic. It is designed for telecom operators, service providers, contact centers, and enterprises that need detailed visibility into SIP, RTP, WebRTC, and related protocols. Deployment options include Linux, web, API, and self-hosted environments, with hosted cloud plans also available.
Its strongest advantage is the depth of its VoIP-focused analysis. VoIPmonitor provides real-time MOS, jitter, packet-loss, delay, and RTCP quality metrics, alongside SIP message flows, call-detail records, call correlation, full SIP/RTP PCAP capture, storage, import and export, call recording, and audio reconstruction. TLS, SRTP, and DTLS-SRTP decryption are supported. Live monitoring, alerts, fraud detection, dashboards, OLAP analytics, reports, billing, and distributed remote sensors extend it beyond basic packet inspection. Integrations include Kamailio, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, Cisco, Avaya, Genesys, Mitel, AudioCodes, Ribbon, Oracle SBC, Cisco CUBE, Sangoma, NetSapiens, and BroadSoft.
The Trial plan provides full features for 30 days. Cloud 3 channels costs $22 per month or $259 per year; Cloud 10 channels costs $54 per month or $647 per year; Cloud 35 channels costs $81 per month or $971 per year; and Cloud 50 channels costs $108 per month. Cloud PCAP remains on the customer's server, while CDRs are sent to the hosted GUI. Choose VoIPmonitor when SIP and VoIP quality monitoring is the priority and protocol-level depth matters. Teams seeking a general-purpose network protocol analyzer should look for a broader focus.

- Supports PCAPs, decryption, recordings, alerts, and remote sensors
- Where it doesn't
- Specialized for VoIP and RTC traffic rather than general network analysis
- No free plan; ongoing use starts at $22 per month
- Cloud PCAP remains on the customer's server
