Virtuozzo Infrastructure is a self-managed hyperconverged platform for service providers and organizations building private or public clouds. It brings KVM-based virtual machines, clustered software-defined storage, software-defined networking, multitenancy, monitoring, backups, and OpenStack-compatible automation into one deployment model. Hosted or on-premises deployments are supported, making it a fit for teams operating hybrid infrastructure that need control over compute, storage, and networking rather than a standalone VM console.

The platform’s strongest case is breadth across core infrastructure operations. VM live migration, high availability, and node evacuation support continuity across compute nodes, while storage replication and erasure coding address clustered data protection. Networking includes routing, VPN, load balancing, and firewall controls. Full and incremental compute backups support VM restoration, and monitoring and alerting integrate with Grafana. The result is a platform suited to service providers and internal cloud teams that need tenant separation through RBAC, quotas, and self-service portals.

Ecosystem fit is another important consideration. Virtuozzo Infrastructure offers an OpenStack-compatible compute API and CLI automation, alongside integrations including Veeam, Acronis, AWS, NetApp, Grafana, Prometheus, Pure Storage, Commvault, CloudBlue, WHMCS, Fleio, and HostBill. Evaluation is supported by a 30-day trial with no expiration, limited to 96 physical CPU cores and 1 TB of logical storage. Production licensing uses lease, annual, or perpetual license keys and is handled through sales channels. Choose it when KVM, multitenancy, storage, networking, and cloud automation belong in one self-managed environment; choose a narrower option when those infrastructure layers are unnecessary.

Virtuozzo Infrastructure pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Live migration, high availability, and node evacuation across compute nodes
    • Replicated and erasure-coded storage with integrated backup and restoration
    • Multitenancy, self-service portals, and OpenStack-compatible automation
  • Where it doesn't
    • Production licensing requires contact with sales channels
    • The platform is self-managed and may require infrastructure expertise
    • Its broad feature set may exceed the needs of smaller virtualization deployments
