Our verdict on Veyla Access
Veyla Access is gym-focused door access-control software and hardware for independent gyms, 24/7 clubs, chains, franchises, and access-control resellers. It supports facial recognition, fobs, PINs, barcodes, and QR codes through HID readers and controllers. Active-member status can be synchronized from the gym’s member system, allowing active members and blocking lapsed members. Administrators can also manage schedules, holidays, closures, visitor credentials, remote unlocks, and entry activity from an app.
The paid offering is split between Veyla Access and the HID Aero controller. Veyla Access covers facial-recognition enrollment by text message and selfie, credential handling, scheduled reader hours, membership-system check-in writeback, temporary visitor PINs or QR codes, remote unlocks with logged reasons, and activity tracking. The published category listing shows a starting price of 99, while the product has no free plan. The HID Aero controller provides one controller per site, two doors on board, and local storage for credentials and schedules, making the hardware choice central to the deployment.
Its strongest operational distinction is local access control during internet outages: the controller can continue making door decisions while the gym’s membership status remains managed by its existing member system. Integrations include PerfectGym and webhook support for access-control and member-management systems. That makes Veyla Access a practical fit for facilities prioritizing controlled entry, scheduled access, visitor limits, and continuity during connectivity interruptions. Facilities seeking a broader integration ecosystem or a deployment without HID hardware should consider alternatives instead.
