Versa Cloud NGFW is a subscription-based firewall service for organizations protecting workloads in AWS, particularly mid-market and enterprise teams seeking cloud-delivered inspection instead of a dedicated appliance. It provides intrusion prevention, malware protection, traffic decryption, deep packet inspection, and URL, file, Geo IP and IP filtering. Management takes place through Versa’s portal, while subscriptions are obtained through AWS Marketplace.
Deployment and ecosystem fit are centered on AWS. An AWS CloudFormation template supports deployment, and licensing is scoped to an AWS account and region, with 4-, 8- or 16-core sizes. Versa Analytics provides logging and security monitoring, while automated security package updates are included among the listed capabilities. This makes the service a closer fit for teams already operating workloads and infrastructure in AWS than for organizations seeking a platform-neutral firewall deployment.
The published plans show Professional 4C, 8C and 16C pay-as-you-go options, plus corresponding versions with a VPN Concentrator add-on. AWS Marketplace lists hourly usage costs, and additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply, so the service’s total operating cost depends on more than the firewall subscription. Remote-access VPN is optional rather than part of the base plan. Choose Versa Cloud NGFW when AWS-native deployment and managed inspection are priorities; consider alternatives if you need remote-access VPN included by default or a wider deployment focus.
