Veeam Recovery Orchestrator review
A recovery orchestration tool for testing, mapping and executing disaster-recovery plans.

Veeam Recovery Orchestrator automates disaster-recovery workflows for enterprise applications and infrastructure protected by Veeam. It creates executable recovery plans for failover and restore operations, supports continuous data protection replica recovery plans, and coordinates recovery across virtual machines, physical machines, agent backups and selected storage-replication scenarios. Recovery orchestration teams can use it to define dependencies, map networks, track RTO and RPO objectives, and produce recovery documentation and compliance reports.
Its strongest fit is the Veeam-centered ecosystem. The product works with Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam ONE, while integrations include VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, NetApp storage and HPE storage. Workload support covers VMware vSphere VMs, Microsoft Hyper-V VMs, Microsoft Azure VMs, physical Windows machines, physical Linux machines, Veeam agent backups, and NetApp and HPE replicated-storage VMs. Custom PowerShell scripts can be added to recovery plans when standard workflow steps need extension.
Readiness validation is a central capability rather than an add-on: teams can schedule automated recovery-plan checks and testing, use isolated DataLab testing, and generate reports for recovery objectives and compliance documentation. The product is available for web, Windows and self-hosted use, is installed on Windows infrastructure, and is included with Veeam Data Platform Premium. Licensing is paid, with rental, subscription and perpetual options, and a 30-day free trial is available. Choose it when recovery execution, dependency mapping and repeatable testing matter; choose another category-focused tool when the primary requirement is WAN optimization.
