Veeam Kasten for Kubernetes is a Kubernetes-native data protection platform for organizations running containerized applications, virtual machines and AI workloads on Kubernetes. It combines policy-driven backup and recovery with application mobility, disaster recovery workflows, immutable and encrypted backups, granular restore, and centralized multi-cluster management. The platform supports hybrid environments across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, making it a fit for teams that need to protect Kubernetes applications across clusters, regions or clouds.

The pricing structure gives smaller Kubernetes deployments a clear entry point. Veeam Kasten Free covers five nodes and includes sandbox, infrastructure or cloud use, Kubernetes workload recovery, and application mobility. The Enterprise Trial supports up to 500 nodes for evaluating enterprise capabilities and workloads. Paid options include one-, three- and five-year plans for Veeam Kasten for Modern Virtualization and Veeam Kasten Enterprise. The Modern Virtualization plans offer unlimited nodes, protection for containerized VM-based applications and data, and 24.7.365 support. Enterprise plans protect entire Kubernetes environments, support unlimited nodes, and use contact-sales pricing. A 60-day trial is also available.

Its strongest technical fit is for teams that need coordinated recovery rather than isolated backup jobs. Failover orchestration, failover testing, recovery runbooks, cross-cluster and cross-cloud mobility, and a disaster recovery protection option for the Kasten platform address operational recovery planning. Integrations include Amazon EKS, Google GKE, Azure AKS, Red Hat OpenShift, VMware Tanzu, SUSE Rancher, Nutanix Kubernetes Platform, upstream Kubernetes, Veeam products, S3-compatible storage, and NFS/SMB storage. Choose it when Kubernetes is central to the environment and a free five-node tier is useful; choose another category option when the requirement is broader infrastructure coverage outside Kubernetes.
