Upptime review
A GitHub-based monitor for teams that want checks, incident records, and a static status page.

Upptime is an open-source uptime monitoring and status-page project for developers and teams comfortable working in GitHub. It checks configured websites and endpoints through GitHub Actions, records incidents in GitHub Issues, and publishes a status page through GitHub Pages. Its repository-based approach suits teams that want monitoring records and public status information alongside their code, rather than a separate vendor-hosted monitoring service.
Checks cover HTTP endpoints, with configurable methods, headers, bodies, and expected status codes, as well as TCP port availability. Custom response-body conditions can identify down, degraded, or missing text. Response-time history is stored in Git and displayed in graphs. Checks run on a schedule, with the shortest interval set at five minutes, so teams that need more frequent detection should consider another tool. Optional Globalping checks can run from specified locations, configured per endpoint. That makes location-specific checks possible, but the five-minute minimum remains a constraint for time-sensitive monitoring.
Incident handling and public communication are central to Upptime’s fit: it can automatically create and close GitHub Issues, generate a static status page with incident history and trend charts, and send outage or recovery notifications. Supported notification routes include Slack, Telegram, Discord, Zulip, Microsoft Teams, Gotify, email, SMS, and custom webhooks. There are no vendor-hosted paid plans; the project runs through a user’s GitHub repository and GitHub services. Choose Upptime if that GitHub-centered workflow and open-source model match your team. It is less suitable if you need checks faster than every five minutes or prefer monitoring and status pages managed outside your own GitHub setup.
