Our verdict on Upper Hand
Upper Hand brings sports program administration together with class and session scheduling, online registration, payments, memberships and client communications. It is aimed at independent coaches, trainers, clubs, academies and facilities that need to coordinate instructors, attendance and spaces alongside enrollment. Members can book through online accounts or mobile devices, while administrators manage schedules and payments. Its in-person class format makes it a more natural fit for facility-based programs than for providers seeking online or hybrid class delivery.
Pricing starts with Start at $79 per month on annual billing. That plan includes program scheduling and registration, email marketing tools, and a mobile app for coaches, staff and athletes. Grow costs $199 per month on annual billing and includes Start, plus facility and resource management, retail and inventory, and staff and payroll tools. Scale includes Grow, adds franchise and multi-location controls and a branded mobile app, and is priced by quote. The tier structure makes the facility tools a key distinction: programs that need resource scheduling should compare Grow with Start, while multi-location operators may need Scale.
For day-to-day enrollment, recurring class scheduling works alongside online booking, class-fee and membership payments, credit passes, attendance tracking, and automated reminders. Waitlists can send email or text invitations when a spot opens, helping staff handle a full class without managing every opening manually. Instructor scheduling and facility resources extend the workflow beyond registration itself. The product also has cloud and mobile deployment, GDPR compliance, and support through email, chat, tickets, documentation and community, but not 24/7 support. Choose Upper Hand if your sports program needs in-person class enrollment tied to instructors and facilities; look elsewhere if free access, around-the-clock support or non-in-person class formats are essential.
