UpCloud Cloud Servers review
Flexible Linux hosting with fast deployment, root access, and infrastructure tooling.

UpCloud Cloud Servers provides virtual machines for developers, businesses, and production workloads. It supports Linux and Windows deployments with full root access, configurable CPU, memory, storage, networking, and firewall controls. The service suits teams that want direct control over virtual servers, flexible resource sizing, and automation through infrastructure tooling rather than a narrowly managed hosting experience.
The three plan families target different infrastructure needs. Starter uses Standard SSD storage and supports 1–16 GB of memory and 1–4 CPU cores, with a 99.99% SLA. Premium adds MaxIOPS storage, 1–512 GB of memory, 1–80 CPU cores, a 99.999% SLA, and a 24-hour backup tier. Cloud Native also supports up to 512 GB of memory and 80 CPU cores, while separating compute from storage and adding automated scaling support. A 30-day trial is available, and the service uses hourly billing.
Platform fit is a major strength for technical teams. UpCloud offers a REST API, CLI, SDKs, and Terraform tooling, alongside configurable firewalls, SDN private networking, automated backups, snapshots, and hot resizing. Standard, MaxIOPS, and Archive storage options support different workload requirements, while zero-cost outbound data transfer applies under the Fair Transfer Policy. Choose UpCloud Cloud Servers when root access, automation, and flexible scaling matter. Teams seeking a free plan or a more managed hosting model should consider alternatives.
