UltimateAntiCheat review
A customizable Windows reference project for common client-side cheat checks.

UltimateAntiCheat is an open-source C++ anti-cheat system for developers building custom protections for Windows games and other software. Its stated purpose is primarily educational, giving teams a reference implementation for detecting common game-hacking techniques. The project uses a usermode approach and can be integrated through source code or as a static library. It is positioned for developers who want to study, adapt, and extend anti-cheat checks rather than adopt a complete cross-platform service.
Its strongest area is the breadth of client-side checks included in the project. UltimateAntiCheat covers memory and code-section integrity, manually mapped modules, debuggers and kernel debuggers, unsigned modules, signatures, suspicious processes, process handles, Secure Boot, and test-signing mode. Optional client-server heartbeat networking adds a way to monitor client connectivity. The project also describes an optional hybrid kernelmode approach, but that path depends on the user supplying a driver. These capabilities make it useful as a focused starting point for teams comfortable with C++ and Windows security work.
The trade-off is that UltimateAntiCheat leaves important product and deployment responsibilities with the developer. It is Windows-only, has no developer SDK, provides no server-side detection, and does not include hardware bans. There are also no verified platform integrations, so teams must plan their own surrounding services and operational processes. Choose it when educational value, source-level customization, and a narrow Windows target matter most. Choose another option when you need broader platform coverage, an SDK-led integration, server-side detection, or a packaged kernel-level solution.
