uControl Asset Management review
A broad hybrid-estate platform with a useful free tier and enterprise-oriented paid plans.

uControl Asset Management is designed for IT asset managers, IT operations, finance, security and enterprise technology teams managing hardware and software across IT, OT, cloud and remote-worker environments. It combines agentless discovery, endpoint agents and reconciled asset records, with support for web, Windows, macOS, Linux and API access. Its scope extends from hardware inventory and lifecycle tracking to software recognition, licence reconciliation, peripherals, contracts and reporting.
Pricing creates a clear entry point but a substantial step to paid use. The Community plan is free forever, runs on-premise and includes agentless, agent, cloud and OT discovery plus licence reconciliation and optimisation. It states support for up to 10k servers. The SMB plan costs £10,000 per year and adds cloud or appliance deployment, business service drift, dashboards, advanced CMDB synchronisation and standard support. Professional costs £40,000 per year and adds the full AI layer, deep discovery, unlimited asset management and a customer success manager. Enterprise adds high availability, multiple environments, premium support and professional services credits, with its price not shown here. Annual prices exclude VAT.
The product fits organisations that need discovery across hybrid platforms rather than a narrow endpoint inventory tool. Integrations include HaloITSM, BMC Helix, ServiceNow, EasyVista, Lansweeper, Jira Service Management and Microsoft Teams, while the REST API supports broader ITSM integration. Hardware capabilities cover warranty, end-of-life, assignment and contract tracking; software capabilities include usage-based licence reclaim. Choose uControl when estate visibility, reconciliation and lifecycle controls span multiple teams and environments. Smaller organisations seeking a low-cost paid deployment, or teams needing only a simple asset register, may find the paid tiers difficult to justify.
