Ubicloud Managed PostgreSQL is a managed cloud database service for teams running PostgreSQL applications. It handles backups, point-in-time restoration, health monitoring, failover, upgrades, connection pooling, networking, and read replicas. PostgreSQL access is available through standard connection methods, the console, CLI, and API. The service supports deployments on Ubicloud infrastructure, AWS, or Google Cloud, with hobby and standard instance sizes using local NVMe storage.

Pricing starts at $19.54 per month for hobby-1, which includes 1 vCPU, 2 GB memory, 16 GB storage, and Shared CPU. hobby-2 costs $39.08 per month with 2 vCPU, 4 GB memory, and 32 GB storage. Dedicated CPU begins with standard-2 at $78 per month and scales through standard-60 at $2,361 per month. Published pricing is shown for Germany and billed by the minute; US pricing is described as comparable. High-availability standby pricing is additional and shown in the console. This structure suits teams that want to match compute and storage to workload size, but the absence of a free plan makes it less suitable for no-cost evaluation.

Operational coverage is the product’s main strength. Automated daily backups include seven-day retention, while point-in-time restore works at per-minute granularity. One or two standby nodes, automatic failover, standby replacement, and read replicas support availability and read scaling. PostgreSQL and PgBouncer configuration management, private networking, firewall rules, private DNS, and supported extensions such as PostGIS, pgvector, and pg_cron add platform depth. Choose Ubicloud Managed PostgreSQL when managed recovery, HA options, and multiple access paths matter. Consider an alternative if you need a free tier or fully established Google Cloud availability.
