TreeMap review
A configurable treemap tool for technical users who need reports from files, folders, and databases.

TreeMap is a treemap visualization application for hierarchical data, including directory-based file-system usage analysis. It is suited to technical users, business professionals, researchers, and home users who need configurable visual reports from files, folders, spreadsheets, tabular data, or databases. Interactive filtering, zooming, drill-down views, proportional layouts, and alternate TreePlot and TreeTable views support different ways to inspect the same hierarchy.
The paid TreeMap plan costs $199 per user and includes perpetual use of the purchased version, new versions released within one year, email technical support, and one year of bug-fix updates and new releases. Existing users can renew for $99 per user per year, with access to new versions for another year. A 30-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan. This structure fits users who expect to continue using the application and need its reporting and import features, while the upfront price is less attractive for occasional disk checks.
TreeMap’s ecosystem fit is a major strength. It supports Windows, macOS, Linux, and web, and can import from MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, SAP MaxDB, PostGIS, Microsoft Access, Excel, OpenDocument, and CSV. Reports can be exported to PDF, SVG, PNG, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, and other formats, while visible data can be exported to CSV or tab-delimited text. Choose TreeMap when configurable treemaps and broad data import matter; choose a narrower disk analyzer when routine file-system inspection is the main need.
