TouchCopy review
A focused desktop tool for exporting iPhone messages, media, and device data.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Sep 2026
TouchCopy is desktop software for Windows and macOS that helps individuals and organizations access, copy, export, print, and back up content from iPhones, iPads, and iPods. Its strongest fit is iPhone message and media archiving: it handles iMessage, SMS, MMS, RCS, WhatsApp, and LINE conversations, alongside photos, videos, music, contacts, call history, calendars, notes, files, books, and voice memos. Transfers can run over USB or Wi-Fi, with content stored locally on a computer.
The standout capability is the breadth of export and backup formats. Messages can be saved as PDF, HTML, CSV, or text files, while call history can be viewed and exported. TouchCopy also creates reduced or full local device backups and can encrypt both backup types. For Apple users working across existing desktop libraries, integrations with iTunes, Apple Music, and Finder add useful ecosystem fit. The software is designed for computer-based archiving rather than moving content directly from one phone to another.
TouchCopy is offered through paid licenses: a Lifetime License provides unrestricted access for 2 PCs with unlimited Apple devices, while the 12 Month and 6 Month Licenses provide unrestricted access on 1 PC for their respective terms, without subscription or auto-renewals. Choose it if you need detailed Apple device exports, readable message archives, local backups, or access to call and media records. Choose an alternative if app transfer or phone-to-phone migration is central to the project.
