Total Network Inventory is a Windows-based IT asset discovery and inventory tool from Softinventive Lab. It is designed for internal IT teams and managed service providers that need to catalog computers, servers, printers, routers, VMware systems, SNMP devices, and other network equipment. The product records hardware and installed software, tracks configuration changes, supports recurring scans, and produces customizable inventory reports. Its discovery options include remote scanning and resident-agent PC scanning.

The published plans divide the product into TNI 6 Standard and TNI 6 Professional. Standard includes hardware and software inventory, customizable reports, scheduled network scans, software accounting, and an installation browser. Professional adds Advanced Software Asset Management, license and product-key tracking, the Network Map module, and Hardware Sensors mode. The starting price is $90 USD as a one-time purchase, with a 30-day free trial. The license is perpetual, includes one year of updates, and later updates may be renewed for 30% of the license price. The verified asset limit is 25, making the entry point most relevant to smaller inventories.

For discovery coverage, Total Network Inventory combines agentless remote scanning with resident-agent scanning and can examine Windows, Unix-based systems, VMware, SNMP, and other devices. It also covers hardware and software change logs, license records, network mapping, and sensor statistics, giving administrators several inventory and audit views in one on-premises tool. The main constraint is platform scope: Windows is the listed platform, even though the scanner can inspect several types of devices and systems. Choose it when a small Windows-centered team wants a one-time purchase for traditional network inventory. Organizations needing a larger verified asset allowance or a non-Windows application platform should consider a different product.
