TOS Discovery review
A focused discovery add-on for Cisco and Arista teams extending Tufin topology.

TOS Discovery is a network discovery add-on built into Tufin Orchestration Suite. It is aimed at enterprise network security teams already using Tufin products such as SecureTrack+ with Topology, SecureChange+, or Enterprise. It discovers unmanaged routers and switches, then can onboard them into Tufin’s topology map. Cisco and Arista environments are the documented focus, making it a fit for teams that want to extend an existing Tufin topology rather than introduce a separate mapping system.
Its discovery workflow is centered on SNMP, with scheduled topology refreshes and device grouping by IP range, credentials, or device type. AKIPS integration supports discovery and export, and discovered devices can be exported manually or automatically. The listed data sources also include SSH, Cisco IOS, IOS XR, IOS XE, IOS XE SD-WAN, Cisco Nexus, and Arista. These capabilities make the product useful for keeping a Tufin topology populated with eligible devices; they do not make it a broad, standalone network mapping product.
Deployment is on-premises, and the documentation limits support to on-premises devices. TOS and AKIPS must communicate across separate servers, so this dependency belongs in deployment planning. According to Tufin’s pricing page, buyers need to request a quote; the pricing model is contact sales. Phone, ticket, and documentation support channels are listed. Choose TOS Discovery if your team already works in Tufin and needs scheduled discovery and onboarding for supported Cisco or Arista devices. Teams seeking a standalone mapper or discovery beyond that on-premises Tufin-centered workflow should consider alternatives.
TOS Discovery pros and cons
- Where it wins
- Discovers unmanaged routers and switches over SNMP.
- Automatically onboards devices into Tufin topology.
- Schedules refreshes and groups devices by range, credentials, or type.
- Where it doesn't
- Requires Tufin Orchestration Suite; it is not standalone mapping software.
- Supports on-premises devices only.
- Requires TOS and AKIPS to communicate across separate servers.
