Tiny Tiny RSS review
A powerful self-hosted RSS reader for filtering, extraction, and deduplication.

Tiny Tiny RSS is a free, open-source RSS and Atom reader for individuals and small self-hosted deployments. It aggregates RSS, Atom, and other feeds through a web interface, with folders and subfolders for organization. The project is designed for readers who want control over feed data instead of relying on a hosted RSS service. Docker installation, OPML import and export, podcast support, sharing tools, themes, and a JSON API broaden its use beyond basic feed reading.
Its strongest differentiator is control over article handling. Full-article extraction is available through Readability and site-specific plugins, while regex-based filtering can apply configurable actions to incoming articles. Deduplication also includes perceptual image hashing, which is useful when different feeds repeat the same story or reuse similar imagery. Generated feeds, plugins, and themes add further ways to shape the reading workflow. Readers who need detailed filtering, extraction, and feed organization should find this feature depth relevant; those who want only a simple hosted inbox may prefer a less technical option.
The platform fit is focused: Tiny Tiny RSS is web-based, self-hosted, and exposes a JSON API. It supports integration through plugins and generated feeds, but it does not provide mobile apps. The original Android client went away on 2025-11-01 and is no longer maintained. That makes the product a stronger choice for users comfortable with a self-managed web deployment than for readers who expect a ready-made mobile experience. Choose it for ownership, customization, and precise feed processing; look elsewhere if native mobile access or hosted convenience is central to your decision.
