Our verdict on TimeLapse Forge

TimeLapse Forge is a macOS desktop application for turning folders or camera cards of still images into time-lapse or hyperlapse movies. It is aimed at solo creators and small teams working with RAW, JPEG, HEIC/HIF and other still formats who want a dedicated Mac workflow. Automatic sorting organizes mixed image formats into sequences, while real-time playback and frame caching help with reviewing edits before export.

Its strongest area is image-sequence refinement. Exposure leveling and deflicker correction address brightness changes across frames, and non-destructive color correction with LUT support provides a repeatable grading workflow. Lens-distortion correction, motion smoothing, bad-frame blending and optical-flow repair extend the tool beyond basic sequencing. Crop presets cover 9:16 and 1080x1080 outputs, while ProRes, H.264 and H.265 exports support editing, delivery and social-oriented formats.

The product uses a single paid plan with a one-time purchase rather than recurring tiers. It runs as a desktop Mac app and requires Apple Silicon; the current App Store release also requires macOS 15 or later. Support is provided through email and documentation.
